Our Terms & Conditions

Below is a full list of our terms and conditions. Before you can make an online order enquiry you will be shown these again and you must accept them to be able to make an order enquiry.

If ever there is anything you are unsure about then ask our drivers on delivery or call the office to discuss your needs.

1. Payment falls due on delivery of skip except on approved credit accounts which must be settled within 30 days . Payments must be made before collection for non account customers.

 

2. Any account outstanding beyond our credit terms of reference will be passed for collection and will be subject to a surcharge of £40 to cover costs incurred. Such accounts will also be subject to any other costs involved in obtaining settlement.

 

3. All skips must be loaded level with top of skip.

 

4. Skips are hired on basis of 1 ton of rubbishs up to 4 yd skips and 2 ton of rubbish for 6 & 8 yd skips. Any excess weight will be charged at £59.95 a ton (this only applies when mixing soil with general waste).

 

5. Excess weight will be invoiced directly to yourself and payment is due by return of post. Confirmation of excess weight will be sent in the form of a weighbridge ticket.

 

6. Customers requesting and authorising vehicles to leave the public highway do so at their own risk and take full responsibility for any damge caused. This may include damage to driveways, underground services, manhole covers, paths, paving, overhead cables, gates and any other items at the site of the producer of the waste.

 

7. Skips must remain in the position left by the vehicle. The driver may decline to remove any repositioned skip if he feels damage may be caused to the skip lifting equipment.Wasted journeys will be charged to the user.

 

8. Access must be left clear to the skip at all times as wasted journeys will be charged to the user at £40 per visit.

 

9. No toxic substances to be placed in the skip. Please advise the driver of any items you are not sure about. Asbestos and any other toxic substances that have to be returned to the producer will be charged at £60 as we do not accept any of the above. Fridges and Freezers will be charged at £60 each. Batteries, gas cylinders, rubber tyres, computer monitors and TV's will be charged at £10 each.

 

10. No fires must be lit within the skip or in close proximity as resulting damage will be charged at the cost of a new skip less a £50 allowance.

 

11. Any damage caused to the skip will be charged to the user. This includes repairs and repainting.

 

12. Skips must be safely loaded and material kept within the confines of the skip. If the skip is overloaded the driver will at his discretion either refuse to remove the skip or wait while the load is corrected. Waiting time will be charged at £30 per half hour or part thereof. A further skip for the surcharge can be hired at the current rate.

 

13. Skips are hired out for the minimum time you require them. If you require the skip for more than 7 days please advise us before the 7 days are up and indicate your completion time. Unauthorised usage in excess of 7 days will be charged at £5 per day.

 

14. It is the responsibility of the user to notify the office when skips will be ready for collection. Times of collection will be entirely at our discretion. If a definite pick up is required on a specific day this can be requested but no guarantee given unless a premium collect charge of £25 is paid.

 

15. If the skip is placed on the public highway or private street the user must comply with all statutory requirements and bye-laws relating thereto. In particular the user must ensure there are adequate battery warning lights illuminated at night on the skip. If lights and cones are provided by Direct Skips a hire fee is payable and any losses are chargeable at full cost plus 25% of cost.

 

16. The user will have no further title to the items deposited in the skiponce removal has been effected and these items then become the property of Direct Skips.

 

17. In the event that payment in full or part is not recieved for the skip then Direct Skips may return the skip contents to the site of collection. The contents will be of the same nature as that removed viz: active or inactive waste.
